Der Fahrstuhl

To be on the move in the countryside can be quite difficult without a car. Public transportation service often isn’t working that good, so especially older people as well as teenagers without a car are limited in their mobility.
But in the small bavarian town Burgsinn a great idea was born in 2018. In addition to the public bus service, there are 30 robust chairs now, standing at certain points in Burgsinn and various neighborhood villages. It works like good old tramping: You sit down and wait for a car to pick you up. Also an app with a programmed bot were coded for more organised car sharing – a great intervention in every aspect: helpful, solidary and good for the climate because of less cars on the streets.
By order of Sinngrundallianz and landscape architecture studio Topo Neo, Kapuze developed the design concept up form logo to website, print, …

der Fahrstuhl is also one of five winning entries in the callenge “Gutes Beispiel 2019” (“good example”) initiated by Bayerischer Rundfunk… A short video you can find  here
