Cultura Ede (NL)

The cultural heart of the Dutch city of Ede beats in the so-called Cultura Ede. The Cultura accommodates theatre and concert stage as well as rehearsal rooms and a beautiful library and café redesigned by Dutch architect and library designer Aat Vos and his team. In the upper part of the library there is also the kids and teenager’s space – and a 36m x 3m long and high wall, which screamed for color until then. For the design concept, I referred to the many 3-dimensional objects in the room that fly into it, continued them on the wall and the concrete columns in front of them, played with perspectives and surrealism and gave elements flying around meanings. Wall and the space in front of it merge into one and stimulate the imagination of the children: “The world is yours.”
